Every individual is a tree in the global community and seedlings rooted in the soil of schools take shape during the formative student years. School is our first taste of home outside. It instills collective values through companionship, shared goals, collaboration, camaraderie, and play. Therefore, the form, through environment, and all that is contained within the school, play an important role in shaping the seedlings.

The present project proposes a design for a girls’ highschool in the village of Maluran. The formation of this design is based on the integration of values such as preservation and enrichment of local culture, educational enhancement, in addition to individual and social effectiveness, through architectural art.

This project consists of circular volumes in two directions of east and west that are linked and connected by a central void in two vertical and horizontal axes. The dominant form of the design emerges from curved lines, conveying a sense of movement and rhythm to the space. The curved lines represent. femininity and are symbolic of the collective goals of the female population. The varying wall heights create road-like inclines and declines, congruent with the geographical backdrop of the school.

The perimeter of the school is defined by a discontinuous frame that carries multiple gaps instead of being marked by enclosing walls. This frame serves a dual purpose: it provides both a spatial context for shared concepts and coexistence within the internal spaces. The gaps eliminate the subordination of he traditional wall, allowing interaction with the outside world from all four sides. This interaction, both within and outside the school, is reinforced by the staircases placed in the northwest corner of the frame, leading down to the ground level and offering a place to gather as well as views of the village and sports field.
